Timmy's Journal - 43. Couple of Poems

Two .. always good on a Saturday

Yours

You pull him close, his head on your chest

Ask in a whisper: Love me, boy?

Tears glisten brightly as he nods, yes

You tell him I love you; I know what’s best

He reaches ‘cross your hard belly

Slim fingers with a gossamer touch

You gently stroke his lithesome back

And kiss his sweet, soft neck

Tell him: The first time I saw you, I knew

You’d be my own special love

We’ll be always and forever, together

Until death, when we then have to part

But until that day I’ll love you, boy

Cherish and keep you safe

Know you’re mine in everyway

And in our lives and love; rejoice

You

I think about you everyday

Praying you’ll never go

And when I cry these bitter tears

When darkness covers me

I’m in that place ruled by fear

It’s only me you see

You’re so strong; hold out your hand

I flounder, but grasp it tight

Together, all, we can withstand

Until the world’s again bright

Thanks for reading 'em!!

Your way with words moves me.
This time first to a smile, and the second, almost to tears.
Thank you, again, for sharing your gifts with us.

Very solid form. The play and exploration of a theme in this pairing is very subtle and rewarding. I enjoyed them a lot. Thanks for posting them

Both of these poems were beautiful testaments to how much love and support can give you strength. They made me smile, tim. Thank you. :)

Well done, tim.

Like two sides of a coin, we have both sides of the love. Very well expressed and interestingly placed.
Quite a pair!

Love is what sustains us and bears us up in times of darkness and fear and too in those times when the light is bright and all the things of this world are well.
It is good to see your words again. You have been quiet little brother.

You made me cry, tim, but I'm not complaining. I've been overemotional lately, but these were beautiful. It started with the first, which was so touching and full of heart, and continued with the second... the reminder of your strength... your resilience... and the love you are blessed with... thanks for these... cheers... Thank you very much AC. I kinda made up my own rules for ‘You’, doesn’t all rhyme. But it worked in my head. And well, rules are made to be broken…

Thank you, dugh. We aren’t much without love in our lives. I think we need it, like water and air. I have been quiet, there was no poetry in me for some time. I just let it be, I can’t make it be there. There is strength in patience and quietness, so I just waited. Thank you so much your insight, I appreciate you reading these, dugh.

Two different emotions, two different people. Their main motivation and strength is Love. Their fear and darkness is the thought of loosing that Love. Love is more than air and water sometimes. You have shown it well.

I loved those too poems. Really solid as Ben said. Thank you for sharing.

Each of these is a gem. Yours is a blessing to us who read it; to know there is such tenderness and love in the world makes all of it warmer and more deeply colorful. You both hurts and strengthens, for it is hard to experience another man's pain, and yet heartening to know the hope and enduring love that shines through. Thank you for sharing these.

Thank you Parker. I’m glad these spoke to you. To me they were a sort of conversation between two people. I always like to hear what you and everyone thinks. Thanks again.
