You hide within a thick skin of sadness
Depression walks by your side
In the midst of becoming
You wait in the dark
Staring at the sky for light
Don’t be afraid that time will come
Your fear will lessen each day
That sadness you’ll slough
Until you are free
And your soul a resplendent sun
