Spice Rack - 5. Persuasion

Come, taste this new thing. If I made a mistake, I apologize now.

Perhaps

I will lie prone,

talking to my pillow,

or on my back, watching your face

aflame;

you might

anticipate mounting indeed,

but before you cry out,

I first have to

say yes.

Thanks are in order to AC Benus and Asamvav111 for comments and suggestions. I am indeed grateful. Please consider leaving a comment or thought. I value everyone's ideas.

Whew... I think you mixed some chili peppers in with those spices. ;)  I loved the play on 'mounting anticipation'.  Very spicy, indeed. :)

Perhaps you need to break out a fan? Glad the play on words appealed to you. You are so kind to read and comment on these. Thank you!

🌶️🌶️🌶️ Just a tad warm .... Your sense of power is lessened by my thought of your chances of ever saying no ... ;)

Oh. Well, I suppose I can spell the word, even if I have trouble uttering it. Thank you for reading this, and for your comments.

Glad you enjoyed this. Hot curried Wheaties: now there's an idea. Thanks for reading and responding to this.

I just imagine this is the tease, before you inevitably beg yes -_-

@Defiance19 in unison... YEEES!

@Defiance19  It's quite possible. It's a little ambiguous...who is really persuading whom? That would be one of those literary discussions that take up a whole class period. In any case, I'm with @BlindAmbition in that there is a unison affirmative eventually.

Quite warm, but playful, too. There are several plays on words, and I hope you got fun visual images from all of them. Thanks for trying this one...

Thank you AC. This one was one of my favorites in writing, too. The play and the persuasion were elements I hoped came through.

I really liked this one in particular. I like the style, it's sexy, AND this is the first I've read a poem including consent. I wish there were more writers who wrote about it. Thank you for this :).
