My Shorts, and Flash Fictions - 18. Fortune Cookie

As always with the stories in this collection. Posted RAW, and with Little Editing. Practice pieces.
Hadn't heard from Gavin and Kyle in a while. A quick look at their life.

"Our first and last love is ---self-love." Gavin read out loud from the fortune cookie paper. With a snicker, he added, “In bed.”

They were in the front room of their new spacious three-bedroom Manhattan apartment, near Central Park. Moving boxes half-unpacked sat around the room, where they took a break to have some lunch.

Kyle shook his head with a groan and went back to eating his Chinese take-out. He looked up at his husband, and couldn’t help but to smile at him. “So, still playing that ‘Fortune Cookie Game.’”

“You know it, hun,” Gavin said and slid over to give Kyle a kiss on the cheek. “What’s the plan for tomorrow?”

“Well, after I meet with those clients in the morning, and lunch with the Boss, I’ll be home to help finish if there is anything left. What about you?” Kyle answered, and took a big bite of his Chicken Cashew dish.

“I won’t be here in the morning. Got a few errands to run, like picking up some spell components, which I can only get tomorrow, and then the interview for the new coven I’ve been asked to join.”

“That’s tomorrow?”

“Yuppers,” Gavin replied with nervousness in his voice. He pushed back his long hair, and fidgeted some, and devoured an egg roll in three bites.

“You’ll do fine, my little witch.”

“Thanks.”

The pair sat in silence for a few, and eventually went back to work sorting out their new apartment.

Well written! I have to agree with @Defiance19, felt like it stopped mid sentence.

I agree it was way too short. I'm glad you liked it, jp.
