Here Kitty, Kitty - 12. Chapter 6.1

Simon blinked awake and immediately wondered where he was.

He sat up in the really comfortable bed he’d been laid in and looked around. The room was almost bare except for the bed and a dresser in a far corner. It was obviously a guest room, but the question was whose guest room?

He could hear Kitryn’s voice and a woman’s softer tones. He moved as quietly as possible to get out of bed and pad to the doorway to see if he could get any more information before he was discovered to be awake.

“I know you’re there, Vamp,” came the female voice. “You may as well join us.”

Simon cursed silently and moved slowly towards the source of the voice. His body was aching all over and his legs didn’t want to cooperate.

By the time he found Kitryn and the unknown female he was shaking and dropped into the first chair he came to.

“You need to feed,” Kitryn insisted and held his arm out.

Simon pushed him away. “How many times do I have to tell you no?”

Kitryn grabbed him and Simon was appalled to find he couldn’t pull away. Where was all his strength?

“You haven’t fed properly for days. If you don’t get fresh blood soon your body will slowly shut down. I did not get you this far to let you check out on me now.”

Simon stared at Kitryn. Was he telling the truth? He had been slowly feeling sicker recently.

“You’ll stop me before I go too far?” That was his main worry and the reason he had never tried to feed from a human. What if he drained the person and they died?

“Trust me, with how depleted you are at the moment Fran could stop you if she needed to.”

Simon tried to turn in Kitryn’s grasp. “I would never feed from a child.” He tried to jab his elbow back but barely received a grunt for his effort.

Finally, Simon slumped in defeat. He was hungry for blood and he knew as a vamp he needed to feed.

Taking Kitryn’s arm he brought it to his mouth and slowly bit down. He heard a hiss but otherwise, Kitryn made no sound.

The blood hit his taste buds and he felt like an electric current had gone through him. His mind slowly cleared, and the aches seeped out of his joints. His senses picked up and he could hear the kits regular breathing coming from nearby.

Suddenly a finger pushed against his lips and slowly he was pulled away from his meal. He let out a whimper before his mind caught up with why he would be being pulled away.

“He needs more,” a female voice said nearby. Before he could work out why he should care another arm was shoved in front of his face. He latched on without a second thought and pulled gently on the vein he found.

This time he was the one to pull away when his body couldn’t take anymore. For the first time he could remember he actually felt full.

He looked up and took in his surrounding for the first time.

His gaze settled on an elderly woman who was calmly binding her wrist with some gauze.

She saw him watching and arched an eyebrow at him. “You know its good manners to close the wounds you make to feed.”

Simon shook his head and she waved a hand at him. “Oh, I know you’re new and untrained. I just meant for you to remember for next time you feed from a donor. If you lick across the wounds they will heal almost immediately.

Simon shook his head and blinked. "Who are you?"

Kitryn chuckled. "That's a long story."

Prompt Used - “How many times do I have to tell you no?”
As always thank you to everyone who reads/reacts/comments on my story. I'm sorry I missed last week a few things came up.
Thank you of course to Timothy as well for all his corrections.

Another interesting chapter. Looking forward to finding out more about Grandma especially now that she has let Simon feed from her and Kitryn.

The older lady is Frans Grandma, she was introduced in the last chapter. I'm sure we'll fine=d out more about her soon though, Simon is always ready with questions. :)

I think this will go a long way towards easing some of Simon's fears about feeding. Of course, other than Kitryn or Grandma, I can't see him finding any willing donors in the near future.

Thank you both for reading and commenting:hug::hug:

He needs food, even if it's scary. I hope he realizes he can learn to feed with care and not do a stupid thing like waiting until he's famished.

Kitryn will teach him and fill the gaps in his knowledge. Simon just needs to learn to trust his new instincts.

I must be slow or something because I don't understand what you are getting at when you say at the end of the chapter, " Prompt Used." Like for this chapter it was: Prompt Used - "How many times do I have to tell you no?" Could you please explain the meaning of it . Thank you for this, I think I might've seen this same statement before on another story.

Each week the Wednesday Brief leader sends out a list of prompts for the writers to use how they see fit. Some weeks she's very busy with her day job nd so we have free weeks.

Hope this helps

Thanks for pointing that out, I've changed it. I'm always grateful to people pointing out mistakes, that's the only way we learn :)

Thanks for reading and commenting

Grandma and Fran share the same gift.  I wonder if Grandma knows the importance of Simon to her family.  That would explain why she so quickly helped to feed him.
