Euphoria and Other Poems - 3. Chapter 3

II

Roll out the water cannon

Drench away the sorrow of lost

Men who silently prayed for

Deliverance amongst the tyranny

Of oppressive govt buildings

The towers of Babel in Heaven’s port

We shall bind them to our

Fore-front, our protection

Of old pentagrams and new war

Tactics playing chess in Avant-garde

Death to all who are Anon

I find this one more than a little chilling, as well as a stirring call. Water cannon needed to both cleanse and quell a riot; old men becoming the armor of the new. I do not fancy my chances in this world of your imagining.
