Euphoria and Other Poems - 6. Chapter 6

In loving memory of certain someone I missed meeting in this life...

V

I am the air beneath your wings

Your deliberate sun warming

Through the old bones lying in

The disparate views of egality

Substances that mix with reality

In infinite colours, a rainbow

That nature hues unforeseen

Unnoticed and in separation

My desperate prayers lingering

Over the horizon of devout tasks

A nightingale’s song offerings

So beautiful in its elegance, and its dreamlike flow. I think of a stream with its currents and eddies, I think of clouds at sunset, and the trill and call of birds from the deep wood where dusk is settling. It is enough to open the heart; so lovely as to well tears. Thank you.
