Cailen's Poem Archive - 3. Hold me close

First Anniversary poem.

Hold me close, please hold me tightly
Tell me everything’s alright
Lay me down, lay down so gently
When you say goodnight
There’s a storm, a storm is brewing
And I don’t want to sleep tonight
Watch the clouds, the lightning brightly
You holding me so tight
Close my eyes, drift off to sleeping
In my arms you sleep this night
And all my love, you will be keeping
And saying everything’s alright
When I arise storm is over
The sun shining in your eyes
Like the pain of coming sober
Wakes me up in a surprise
What a life, a life we’re leading
In the end the same is true
We’ll be gone our lives are fleeting
But I’ll still be sleeping next to you
