Declan was the epitome of strength, the top defensive back, top student in his classes, part of THE top-notch football team. But when he fails a basic challenge in front of his entire team--especially to a tiny thing like Bailey McIntyre--he's furious. So is his team captain. And Declan just can't seem let it go. And it gets worse... because he starts to think about Bailey as more than just the guy who destroyed his reputation.

This story is set at an elite private all-boys school.  The campus is very collegiate-like, and each student is expected to participate in a sport of some kind as a way of integrating mind, body, and spirit. It will be told in three parts.  Part 1 is exclusively from Declan's POV, part 2 will be Bailey's POV, and the chapters in part 3 will alternate between the two.  It is a slightly different approach I'm trying with this story, so I hope you enjoy it.

My screen reader is female... Samantha is her name, no joke. Daniel is drab and boring. Reminds me of a really awful first date.

Only two choices? Or do they make you pay extra for more voices? Too bad you can’t use the voices Apple offers.  ;-)

f you could choose any voice, whose would it be? My choice would likely be someone like Orson Welles or perhaps Patrick McGoohan..

Leonard Nimoy maybe. I like strong authoritative voices. I’d get a kick out of Spock

Those are Apple voices. The others are with accents. I already have an Irishman. Danny Sir is enough.

At least with the version of MacOS that I’m using, I see several more voices than that. Besides, an Aussie accent is kind of fun for a change. Or a British one – too bad they don’t offer Cockney…  ;-)

We had a very sultry womans voice in a car rental gps in LA. Imagine Honor Blackman after a few scotches. Very weird.

I think I’d prefer Patrick Stewart’s voice…  ;-)

I agree with the wait, but I'm trying to be patient...mine's an Aussie voice...HOT!

I don't use a screen reader. I find that reading it myself allows me to see the story more.

Different strokes different folks and what not (no pun intended).

I hate extraneous sounds and music from my computer. When I’m playing Civilization VI or the few other games I play, I turn off all the sounds and music! It’s really annoying to me.  ;-)

On YouTube, I turn off autoplay and download the videos to view later. On Ted Louis’ Gay fiction site, I use his special Visually Impaired page to avoid the music and annoying video. Macworld’s site used to annoy me until Safari started giving me the ability to block videos that automatically played (plug-ins didn’t always work properly). Download.cnet still plays its how-to video, but I don’t use the site very often.  ;-)

All of those distractions, and smells like scented soaps, detergents, deodorants, and colognes & perfumes, really bother me and I try to avoid them as much as possible. I have symptoms that resemble ADD or Aspberger’s/Autism Spectrum, but not enough to get the diagnoses. But at least they don’t seem to make me ill.  ;-)

Strangely (and this pisses off my partner too) I can block extraneous sound and just either listen to what I want to listen to, or ignore sound all together while reading/sleeping/whatever.  What I cannot block out is scent. Anyone who wears too much eau de cologne, or those bath smelly things or the smell of hotel rooms where someone has smoked, or they have used highly scented cleaning products.  In so annoys me I can block one but not the other.
