The Barnstable Chronicles: Vic Greenley Comes Home - 10. Coming Home, Finding Home

Vic has moved back to the Cape and starts his new life. I've been so excited about this chapter since we get to start merging Vic's story with the other stories. Yay!
Of course, since Vic is in a new place, we have to have a new character or two!
Hope you like this chapter!
Enjoy...

Vic and his parents arrived home late Sunday night. Vic and Sam moved his things downstairs to the basement apartment. Vic decided to leave everything in the living room but pulled one of the suitcases into his bedroom, so he would be able to get something to wear to his first day as a teacher and coach at Barnstable High School.

The next thing he knew, Claire was calling down from the kitchen for him to wake up. She had fixed breakfast. He hopped in the shower and cleaned himself, completely ignoring his other morning ritual. He threw on a pair of khakis and a UT Longhorn polo.

He headed upstairs for some of his mom’s amazing French toast and bacon. He ate rather quickly, much to his mother’s angst, and headed out the door and then to school. He made a mental note that the first thing he needed to do was get a car. He hated borrowing his mom’s.

He pulled into the faculty parking lot and loved that it was even closer to the building than the Senior parking lot. As he was walking toward the front door, he was greeted by several of his old teachers. Some of them were confused as to why he parked in the faculty lot, and he explained that he was one of the new teachers and was taking over the swimming and diving teams.

When he entered the building, signs welcomed the teachers and directed them to the cafeteria for the Student Council Welcome Breakfast. Vic rolled his eyes and prepared his mind for his second breakfast of the day.

The first stop was taking photos for the faculty IDs that they would be wearing every day. The new cards have a chip that they could place over a box at each entrance, which would unlock the doors for them. Apparently, this was all part of the new security system that was installed over the summer.

After having his photo taken, Vic walked in and was greeted by Mr. Graham, the new principal. He and the four other new faculty members were assigned seats at the head table. There were name tags at each place, so he’d know where he was to sit.

As soon as he found his place and sat, one of the students came up to him. “Hi, Mr. Greenley. I’m Cam Franklin, the Junior class president. I’m gonna be trying out for the swim team, too. And—I’m going to serve you breakfast today. Can I get you some juice or coffee? Both?”

“I’d love both, Cam. It’s nice to meet you, too.”

As old habits are hard to die, Vic found himself checking out the ass of the cute Junior class president as he walked away from the table and into the kitchen. Luckily, he was distracted from the view when another young teacher sat in the seat next to him.

“Hi. I’m Victoria Stallings, the new English teacher. But you can call me Vic!”

“Well then. Hi Vic. I’m Victor Greenley, a new history teacher and swim coach. Everyone calls me Vic, too!”

“Nice to meet you!” Both spoke at the same time.

Vic and Vic found a connection during that breakfast. They laughed a lot about college and the fact they both looked like students. Mr. Graham then stood up at the podium to speak.

He welcomed all the teachers and mentioned how excited he was to be starting his first year at BHS. He then introduced the new faculty. He saved me for last. I didn’t understand why until he started talking.

“And last, but definitely not least, we have one of those rare treats. A former student has returned home. He still holds the Massachusetts state swimming record for the 400-meter. Now I don’t want any of you other teachers sending him to the office thinking he’s a student being someplace he shouldn’t be. Our new swimming and diving coach—and history teacher—Vic Greenley!”

Vic stood up and acknowledged the applause. As he was preparing to sit, several of the student council kids started chanting, “Greenley! Greenley! Greenley!” It was a name that would stick. He would always be known as Greenley. Not Mr. Greenley. Not Coach Greenley. Just Greenley.

Vic also noticed a cute, nerdy boy taking their pictures as each of the new teachers stood. Later that afternoon, he found out the boy’s name was Hayden Miller. Hayden was a senior and the editor of the school paper. He had come to Vic’s classroom for a short interview. They were going to have an issue of the paper published for the first day of school, and the feature story was about the new teachers on campus.

Vic had to chuckle to himself when he saw how nervous Hayden was during the interview. His voice even cracked on a couple of his questions. The poor boy looked like he wanted to die from embarrassment.

Vic spent the rest of the afternoon working on his lesson plans. He felt pretty lucky that he only had two different curriculums to plan. There were three Junior-level U.S. History classes and One AP History class for Juniors and Seniors. He also had a boys’ health class for freshmen, and the school district already wrote that curriculum. His “free” period was the last period of the day, so he could use it for planning or preparation for the swim team if needed.

When he finally made it home at the end of his first day of school, he was completely exhausted. During dinner, he spoke with Sam and Claire about finding a car and a place to live. Of course, Claire thought finding a place to live was utterly absurd since he had an apartment in the basement. After some convincing, Vic got his parents to agree that it was time for him to find his own place.

His only concern was finding the time to look for a place to live. Claire agreed to talk to some of her real estate friends and see if they could find a nice two or three-bedroom house reasonably close to the school. Sam told Vic that one of the firm's secretaries was selling her son’s car since he was going off to college and needed the money more than he needed the car.

After dinner, Vic helped his mom clean and put away the dishes while Sam went into his study to do some paperwork he needed to catch up on. Once all the chores were finished, he went downstairs to his apartment and powered up his laptop, and get more work done on his lesson plans.

About thirty minutes into his work, there was a ping notifying him that there was a Skype call coming in from Hunter. As soon as he saw Hunter’s face, he knew something was wrong—really wrong.

Journal Entry - 8/17/2015

Shit! Shit! Shit! I don’t understand why everything seems to work out, and then God—or the Universe—or fucking Satan comes in and throws a curveball! Shit!

Tonight, I got a Skype call from Hunter. When I heard the ping and saw it was him, I got so excited to talk to him again. But when I saw his face, I knew it was bad. Hunter looked like he had been crying for hours.

And yes, he had been. He had terrible news to share. Jaime was killed in a suicide bomb attack outside a market in Kabul. It would be about a week before they could get his body back to Abilene, and then there would be a funeral with full military honors. The news completely destroyed Jaime’s parents, and as far as I could see, Hunter was pretty much devastated.

God, I wish I could be there for him! I have always felt a little guilty that we kind of drifted apart as Andy and I got closer. But he was always cool about it. Even when he came back to school, he ended up getting an apartment with his old friend Daniel. Hunter was never really able to compete on the swim team again but did a great job as an assistant coach for Jerry and me.

I just sat there and listened as Hunter rambled on about Jaime and how he didn’t know how he could continue without him. My heart was breaking. When he finally talked about the funeral, he said that his parents wanted something minimal, just family. They couldn’t stand the thought of having to talk to a bunch of people they hardly knew, especially those that were there for the photo op.

Then it hit me. I asked Hunter how much time he had been given away from school, and he said Coach Reese told him to take as much time as he needed. I asked Hunter if he would like to come to the Cape for a week or so after the funeral. I just kinda figured a complete change of scene would do my friend some good.

He said he would think about it, but he was pretty sure the answer would be yes. After we closed the Skype call, I started to miss Andy. I couldn’t tell you why, so I called him. Andy hates Skyping.

Andy was doing well. His parents decided to stay a couple of extra days and took the time to get to know their son. He was thrilled to hear both “I love you” and “I’m proud of you” from his father. He said when his dad told him that he loved him, his mother started to cry.

He said there was a lot of work to do, but for the first time, he felt like there just might be a real relationship with his parents. They still weren’t 100% sure about his being gay, but he stood up to them and let them know this wasn’t something that could be changed.

After relating all the exciting news about his parents, he started to cry. He missed me terribly, especially at night. Hell, I miss that beautiful boy, too. I asked him what his Christmas plans were, and he told me that if his parents agreed to shut down the restaurant on Christmas day, he would go to L.A. Otherwise, he was free to go wherever. Last Christmas, he came to the Cape with me and saw his first-ever snow. He would love to do that again. I would love to see him again.

Okay, this totally sucks. After talking with Andy, which was after an afternoon of way too many hot boys at work, I’m horny as fuck. I’m going to have to stroke off a load or two and crash. Fuck me—it’s looking like it’s going to be a long-ass year.

The rest of the week went smoothly for Vic. He was able to get a month ahead on his lesson plans, and on Friday, he had a meeting for those who wanted to try out for the swim team. He didn’t have time to evaluate any of the potential swimmers. He just spent the time talking with the kids about his hopes, their hopes, and expectations all the way around.

He also answered a lot of questions about winning the national title at UT. What life as a college athlete was really like—of course, in the back of his mind, the devil voice said, “I had two hot-as-fuck boys give me all the sex I could handle!” No. No. No. He put that voice aside and instead told the kids about the dorm, the great food they got (that no one else on campus knew about), and he told him about the amazing road trips all over the country.

He also let them know that he would be opening the pool on Saturdays (once school started) from 10-12 for a co-ed free swim that was open only to the team. He knew first-hand how important it was for the team to bond on a level beyond practice.

At the end of his meeting, he handed out permission slips and the forms that a doctor needed to fill out for their athletic physicals. He made sure the kids knew that no one would be able to try out without both sheets completed and signed. They had two weeks before tryouts so they could get everything done.

Saturday morning, Claire showed Vic a list of potential houses that they could check out after breakfast. Vic could tell that Claire didn’t want him to leave the house after he just got home, but he said it would still be better than the last three years because he could drop by whenever he wanted to, and they would still have their privacy.

The first two houses were just okay. They both needed quite a bit of work, and Vic wasn’t sure he had the time (or the ability) to do what was required. The third house was part of an estate sale. It had belonged to a middle-aged gentleman who had died unexpectedly.

He had no children or wife, and his siblings just wanted the house taken care of quickly. If need be, they would let it go under market value. It was a three-bedroom clapboard house with dark green shutters. The yard was immaculate. The best part was the house was entirely furnished—even came with dishes, linens, towels—the works.

One of the three bedrooms had been converted to an office, and the shelves were lined with books. Vic took a close look at the books and found that the previous owner was an apparent history buff!

To Vic, it seemed destiny was at work. Everything was pretty much perfect. He liked the furniture, and the color palette throughout was precisely what he would have chosen. The best part was when he stepped out to the backyard.

Vic gasped when he saw the pool and hot tub. He didn’t need to see anything else. “This is the one, Mom. I’ll take it!”

“Oh, honey! It’s as if the house was built just for you! Let me text your father. He’ll want to see it before we move on things.”

She texted Sam, and in just fifteen minutes, he walked in the door. “This is wonderful! You’re right, Claire—this is the perfect house for our boy!”

The Greenley’s made another tour of the home, and then Sam went off to the office to speak with the realtor.

“Mom, even after the second look around the house, all I need to do is move in my things. I don’t see anything that I would want to change.”

About twenty minutes later, Sam and the agent walked into the living room with smiles on their faces. “Vic, we negotiated an offer, and they accepted. We need to get the banking particulars done, and you should be able to move in a few weeks from now. Now, we’re not trying to butt into your business, but your mother and I will probably buy the house and list you as a co-owner. That will make things move much faster, especially since you don’t have any real credit history.”

“Sweet! This is so cool, Dad! Thanks for helping out!” Vic stood up and hugged his father.

The Greenley family wrapped things up with the realtor and made their way out to the front of the house. Vic was confused when he saw the black SUV sitting in the driveway.

“Who’s car is that?”

“That would be yours, son.” Sam was grinning from ear to ear.

“What the—what do you mean by mine?”

“Well, as you know, your mother and I had been putting money aside for your college expenses since you were a little boy. Because your incredible swimming abilities pretty much paid for your college education, we decided to surprise you with a new car.”

“Darling, we are so proud of you. You have brought so much joy to our lives—and the lives of so many others. I hope you like it. It’s something you can use for years to come—and I’ll get my car back!”

Tears were filling Vic’s eyes as he hugged his mother. “You wonder why I was so happy to come home? It’s you and Dad. I’m so lucky to have you guys for parents.”

The following Monday was the last workday for the teachers. There were departmental meetings, followed by a “pep rally” for the faculty in the auditorium.

The meeting's highlight was a performance of “One Day More” by the theatre department’s cast of Les Miserables, the musical from the previous school year. Several of the graduated Seniors even made it back for the performance. Vic hoped his swimmers had that kind of dedication.

The next day was the day Vic had been looking forward to most. He made a point of standing outside the door to his classroom for every period so he could greet each student. The kids seemed surprised at that but appreciated the gesture nonetheless.

Not much was taught the first day. It was a day of handing out textbooks, syllabuses and letting the kids know what the expectations would be. He also let each of his classes know that a group project would be a third of their grade for the semester. Each group would have two or three students.

At 4:00, the bell rang, and Vic was feeling on top of the world. He felt like he would be developing a great rapport with his students. The best part, he had already received completed paperwork for 31 kids interested in the swim team, and tryouts weren’t going to happen until the following Monday.

When Vic got home, he walked into the kitchen and found his mom on the phone. She was talking to her sister in Kentucky.

“Hold on—he just walked in the door. Vic? Are you going to be around this evening? Ian wants to call you.”

“Sure! I’m just going to chill out. It’s been a hectic few days.”

Claire passed the message on, and Vic let his mom know that he was going to take a quick nap before dinner.

Vic went downstairs and into his bedroom. As he stripped down, Vic couldn’t help but smile and chub up as he thought about the fun times he and his hot cousin had with Andy during graduation weekend.

During the week-long break between Summer sessions, Vic would fly to Kentucky and spend his break with Ian. Vic had learned a lot about hot-boy-sex from Hunter and Andy and was more than happy to “tutor” his cousin. By the time their last visit was coming to an end, Ian was more than holding his own when it came to his sexual prowess.

About an hour after dinner, Vic’s cell phone rang, and Ian’s cute-as-fuck face popped up on the screen.

“Cuz! Damn, it’s good to hear your voice again! It’s been too long!”

“Vic! It’s been just over a week—but damn, that was so much fucking fun!”

“Dude! I was thinking about that before dinner. Had to stroke off a load just thinking about you and your hot ass!”

“So, how would you like to get your hands on this hot ass over Labor Day weekend?”

“No way! Really?”

“Yeah, Mom is flying to the Cape to spend some time with your mom and said I should come along.”

“Fuck yeah! And you know the best part?”

“I get my hands on your ass?”

“Well, of course that! Ian—I just bought a new house. I should be in by then. You can stay with me so we can let our moms do their mom-thing without us getting in the way!”

“Oh fuck, Vic. That just got me hard!”

“Yeah, right!?!”

Vic’s phone pinged, and Ian was requesting Facetime. Vic accepted, and the first thing he saw was Ian’s hand stroking his hard cock.

“Holy shit, Ian! Is it the camera angle, or is that thing getting bigger?”

“Whatever! You like what you see?”

“Dude! It’s awesome! Wish you were here right now!”

“Yeah, then you could—fuck!—ah—ah—ah—see this!” Ian’s nut exploded all over his abs, and more than a few drops blocked the view from the phone’s camera lens.

“Ian! You’ve turned into a perv! I love it!”

Ian caught his breath and cleaned off his phone with a nearby sock. “Dude! That was kinda hot! I mean, I’ve never done anything like that before. Blew my nut way sooner than I wanted to.”

“Of course you did! You’re 17. No way you could hold back.”

The boys switched back to a regular phone call and talked about Vic’s new job, the house, the pool, the hot tub, new car, Ian’s Junior year in Kentucky, his cray-cray father. Ian asked Vic if he missed Andy.

“Of course I do, Ian. Andy was an amazing boyfriend. But just like Gavin and me at the end of high school, we both were heading down two completely different paths. Trying to continue our relationship would have been much worse than ending things. I’ll always love Andy. He says I taught him so much, but the fact is he taught me things that I’ll carry with me for the rest of my life.”

“I think I’m gonna miss him too—well, I’m definitely gonna miss that Asian Tom Daley thing he had going. Damn, that boy was hotter than fuck!”

“Yeah, and the funny thing is, he never saw it. He couldn’t get what guys—and a shitload of girls—ever saw in him. I guess that was part of his charm.”

The boys ended up talking for another hour until Vic had to end the call. It was getting late, and since he had to get up at 6:00 a.m. for school, he didn’t want to be yawning through his classes on just the second day.

The second day of classes began his lesson plans. Things went smoothly, and he noticed that things hadn’t changed much since he was a student at BHS. The jocks and cheerleaders all sat in the back of the classroom—the nerds and honor society kids all took the seats in the front half.

It was Thursday afternoon during his free period when his cell phone rang, and he noticed it was a call from his mom. Since he was sitting in his office, he went ahead and took the call.

“Hi, mom! What’s up?”

“Oh! Sweetheart! I knew it was your free period, so I thought I’d take that chance that you might be able to answer. We just got some great news!”

“Yeah?”

“It’s a good thing your father is a hotshot lawyer! He called in a few favors and got the ball rolling—and well, you get to move into your new home on Saturday!”

“Holy Shit! Oops! I mean—yaaaaaay! Go Dad! I’m still new at this mature adulting thing here. Hell, I’m not that much older than my Seniors!”

“That’s okay, sweetheart. I’ve heard worse coming from you—and your apartment.”

“Mom!”

“You know I love getting a rise out of you! Anyway—I just wanted to let you know the good news. I knew you’d be excited! I’ll see you in about an hour then?”

“Sure! And don’t start anything for dinner. I want to take you and Dad out for dinner tonight. Just a little thank you for everything you have done for me.”

“Well, that’s lovely! I’ll send a text to your father and let him know.”

“Okay, Mom. I need to run down the athletic office and see if I have any more paperwork from the kids wanting to try out for the swim team. I’ll see you in a bit.”

The call ended, and Vic headed down to see any more kids interested in the swim team. He was stunned to see yet another stack, bringing the total up to 54 kids. He was pretty sure there had never been this kind of interest in the swim program in a long, long time.

On the way to the restaurant for dinner, the Greenley’s stopped by Vic’s new house. They took a look around, opening cabinets and drawers, looked into the garage, walked through the backyard, and checked out the pool. Vic still couldn’t believe he didn’t have to buy dishes, towels, linens, or even pool chemicals. There was an electric lawnmower in the garage, perfect for the small front yard and the tiny lawn in the back.

As they were walking around, one of the next-door neighbors came by to meet them. Ginny Evans was an attractive woman in her early forties, and she brought along her son.

“Very nice to meet you, Ginny. I’m Vic Greenley, and I’ll be moving in over the weekend. And this is—”

“Perry. Perry Evans.”

“Are you a student at BHS?”

“No, I go to Cape Cod Academy. I’m a Senior there.”

“Awesome! You look like a swimmer. Am I close?”

“Yep! I’ve been on the swim teams since I was in the seventh grade—well—you’re a swimming legend around here, and you’re kinda like my hero, Mr. Greenley.”

“You shouldn’t embarrass the new neighbors before they even move in!”

“Sorry, Mr. Greenley.” Perry blushed and looked down at the ground.

“Hey—it’s okay—and since you’re not one of my students, please call me Vic, okay?”

Perry looked up at Vic and smiled. His blue eyes had a trace of sparkle, and his white teeth glistened in contrast to his golden tan.

“So Mr.—erm—Vic. I was wondering—”

Ginny noticed how awkward her son was feeling and suggested she show Claire and Sam around the yard and different plants and hedges.

“Thank God! I don’t know how it is with your mom, but it’s so fucking hard to carry on a decent conversation with my parents around—especially with a cute boy! Sorry about the language. I hope that’s not a problem.”

Perry’s head shot up, and he looked right at Vic. “What do you mean? I mean, how did you know?”

“What? That you’re a cute boy? I have eyes, Perry!”

“I mean, why would you say that? Unless you thought that I was—you know—”

“What? Gay? Are you? I am. Hope that’s not a problem.”

“Yes. I mean—no! I mean, yes, I am, and no, it’s not.”

“So, is that what you were wondering about before our parents left?”

“No. I was wondering—I mean Roger—that’s the guy who used to live here. He let me use the pool, and in return, I took care of the upkeep. I was wondering if you would mind working out some kind of deal like that.”

“I think that would be awesome! I’m a teacher at BHS and the swim coach. I’m not going to have a lot of spare time to take of that sort of thing. Would you be interested in mowing the lawn for some extra cash?”

“Fuck yeah! Oops. Sorry.”

“No need to apologize to me—I think I was the one to drop the first f-bomb here. Anyway. I’m moving in Saturday morning. Just drop by sometime in the afternoon, and we’ll work something out.”

“That awesome. This is gonna be great!”

With perfect timing, Ginny, Claire, and Sam walked around the corner of the house.

“Mom! He said yes!”

Claire laughed. “If he hadn’t, I would have made sure he changed his mind!”

“Whatever, Mom. We need to get going, though. It’s getting close to reservation time.”

Dinner was great, and Vic really did enjoy taking his parents out to their favorite restaurant. They talked about Perry and his offer to take care of the pool in exchange for being able to use it. He would also be mowing the lawn, and they would discuss payment on Saturday.

Saturday morning finally arrived, and Vic moved into his new house. For the record, the Greenley’s decided that this was probably the easiest move into a new home ever recorded in Cape Cod history.

Vic ordered pizza for lunch, and ten minutes after it arrived, Perry knocked on the front door.

“Perry! Come on in. I just had some pizza delivered. Are you hungry?”

“I’m eighteen. What do you think?”

“Excellent, come join us! Mom, Dad, you remember Perry from next door?”

Greetings were exchanged, and the pizza was devoured. Sam and Claire made their way out to their car after a tearful hug with her son.

“Mom. This isn’t like Texas. I’m ten minutes away.”

“I know. I know. But it’s not always easy to see your only child grow up. That’s all it is.”

“Okay. Well, I’m going to let you and Dad enjoy some privacy now. I have a guest sitting inside wondering what the Hell is going on out here.”

Vic finally walked into the house and found Perry cleaning up the pizza boxes and paper plates.

“Perry. You don’t have to do that! Please. Sit down!”

“Oh, it’s cool. I used to help Roger all the time.”

“Roger? The guy who used to live here?”

“Yeah, we got pretty close, actually.”

“Was he?...”

“Gay? Yeah. Super nice, too. Kinda like you. He was only 45 when he passed away. Happened so fast, too. One week he caught a cold. The next week he was in the hospital. The next week—he was gone.”

“That’s terrible. Were you close?”

“Not what you’re thinking—not that kind of close!”

“Not what I was thinking at all! You goofball!”

“No, we were close kind of in a father-son way. I mean, my dad died when I was four, so it’s been just my mom and me. When I started helping Roger with his pool, Mom was happy that I had a father figure in my life. She thought he would be helpful.”

“Was he?”

“Oh man—like you wouldn’t believe. When I was thirteen, I started feeling the gay thing coming on. It didn’t scare me all that much, but it did confuse me. With Roger being gay—well—he picked up on my feelings pretty quick and was just there to answer questions, listen to my thoughts—that sort of thing. He never tried anything, so that was cool. It actually made us closer that way.”

“Well, you seem to have your shit together now. Do you have a boyfriend?”

“I did. But he graduated last year. CCA has a lot of international students. Angelo was one of them—from Italy. It was great while it lasted, but it was completely over after graduation. He went back to Siena, and I never heard from him again.”

“Yeah, I know how hard that is. Sometimes I think it’s harder when you know a relationship is going to end. My last boyfriend was also my roommate in college and was on the dive team. But—we graduated just a couple of weeks ago. He’s staying in Texas for med school, and I came here to teach and coach.”

“You miss him?”

“Yeah, I do. We’ve talked on the phone a couple of times, but I can’t—won’t—do or say anything that’s going to distract him from his studies. So, I’m lonely and a little sad, but he’ll never know.”

“So, it looks like we have a lot in common then. We both swim—okay, okay—you’re like a God in the world of swimming, and I’m just an urchin, but still. And then we both seem to have lost our boyfriends to geography. And—hmmm—we both like pizza!”

Vic laughed and shook his head and gave Perry his trademark toothy grin. “You’re a nut. We’re gonna get along just fine!”

“Yeah. Hey—you wanna hit the hot tub?”

“Is it ready?”

“Yeah. The realtor told me the sale was done on Thursday and had me fix up the pool and hot tub. Whaddya say?”

“Sounds good to me! I worked sooooo hard today, moving in and all!”

Perry led the way to the back door and started dropping his clothes as soon as he hit the patio. Vic's eyes got wide as he noticed Perry’s all-over tan and hot, totally fuckable bubble ass. Without missing a beat, Perry turned on the jets, stepped into the hot tub, and took a seat facing Vic.

Vic smiled at his new friend and proceeded to take off his clothes. Hell, there was just not much modesty with swimmers. Once Vic pulled off his boxer briefs, Perry’s eyes widened, and his jaw dropped as Vic moved into the tub.

“I was right—you totally are a fucking god.”

“You’re not so bad yourself, neighbor boy.”

With that, Perry stood up in the hot tub, his hard six inches pointing straight up to his tight abs. He walked over to Vic, sat in his lap, placed his hands on either side of Vic’s face, and went in for a kiss.

Perry opened Vic’s mouth with his tongue, and soon the two boys were tasting each other and moaning. Perry pulled away from Vic and wiggled his eyebrows. “Welcome to the neighborhood, Vic Greenley. I may just be eighteen, but you’re just twenty-one. This is a helluva lot better than the last guy who lived here!”

“But there’s a second-floor window on your house. What if your mom—”

“That’s my bedroom. Mom never goes in there. And she’s not home till late tonight.”

Perry wiggled his eyebrows once again as both boys felt each other’s hard cocks fight for space between them.

“Oh fuck me—I’m definitely going to like living here!”

New house, new boy, new possibilities! We're about nine months before Cam and Ian meet at that lifeguard orientation meeting that happened in the first chapter of the first book. It's kinda cool that we're starting to come full circle in this saga.
Now I'm going to write the next chapter for my other story.
Let me know what you think. You know, when you're on the 10th chapter of the third book of this Barnstable thing... it's getting harder and harder to get motivated. You can help with those comments that we thrive on!
Love you all!

I’m wondering what Vic has planned to ‘rock their teenage worlds’! Will he be choosing the groups himself? Or will he require the kids to choose someone not from their cliques?  ;-)

OMG poor Hunter.   Because of the accident he couldn’t compete in swimming and now the love of his life is killed in action in Iraq.  I hope he does make it to the Cape.  The comfort of friends is just what he needs.  Nice to see the first meeting between Vic and Hayden.  It sounds like the first time they met Hayden has something for Vic.  Meeting a young Cam as well. Nice to see all the old characters lining up.  To bad we didn’t see Charlie yet.  Thanks for a great chapter and a chance to meet everyone all over again.

I’m wondering what Vic has planned to ‘rock their teenage worlds’! Will he be choosing the groups himself? Or will he require the kids to choose someone not from their cliques?  ;-)

Oh... It's gonna be a blast. It's something a teacher would do in my high school English classes! Pissed us off, too.

Very enjoyable. Not even sure what else to say, I liked everything about the story, other than the death of Jamie.  I feel so bad for Hunter. The rest of the story really brought me out of the Jamie/Hunter slump.

This part kinda confused me ( He had no children or wife and his kids just wanted the house taken care of quickly ) if he didn't have any children, how was it that his kids wanted the house taken care of.....

Sorry for nitpicking it really jumped out at me while I was reading it.

I really do love the story, can't wait til he and Hayden get together.

Thanks for pointing that out! It should have read "siblings" (and now does). Oops!!

I feel like I need a lap bar and a five-point racing harness to survive this emotional roller coaster.  Actually found myself tearing up at the first mention of Hayden, and I’m heartbroken for Hunter. You’ve done a nice job, though, balancing the tragedy (current and impending) with humor and fun.   An 18-year-old pool boy, huh?  :2thumbs:   Vic’s and Perry’s meeting seems fortuitous for both.  This reminds me of a line from “Angels in America”:   “there is good news before there is bad“.

I know they are all horny men, but they move fast, lol. I still feel bad about Andy, and specially Hunter, poor guy losing his lover so young. Hope Jaime parents still help him, and that he is not alone in the world.

They do move fast... Mainly because they're not yet men. They're just boys! They only think with the head dangling down below!

I’m heartbroken for Hunter losing Jaime. 😭  Hopefully Hunter will go to the cape, so that he can try to pick up the pieces and start over. I’m happy for the warm reception Vic is receiving at the high school, the interview with Hayden was a really nice touch. It’s very good to get a glimpse of the other main characters prior to the beginning of the original story. The new house and new car paid for by his parents using the money they’d saved for his college education was an extraordinarily special addition. I love the new pool boy. 😍 I’m ready for the next chapter 😃

I thought that the previous owner of Vic’s house was gay, and now the new owner

is gay, how cool is that?

i would not have kept the linen and towels and other personal effects,

I would have bought that all new.

furniture is ok though. 😀

hot pool boy, yum

WoW, guess I should have read this chapter before I commented in the last chapter. All my questions we're answered in this one.

Like for everyone else the death of Jaime was a bit of a shocker, damn can Hunter not get a break. Still a few lingering feelings over Andy but the pool boy helps. Glad to see Vic settling in back home again, new job, house and car. Best of all, brief early glimpses of Cam and Hayden. Still loving Barnstable and all the gang.
