This was just so damned depressing. I feel like I want to kill myself.. and him to put him out of his misery. :) I'm not suggesting in any way that story wasn't good becuse it was, or that I didn't like it, which I did. It's just that the poor guy just can't catch a break... and that's just th prologue. I really did like the story. I'm just hoping that Jak will have at least some some moments of joy

Thanks! I wanted to paint a picture to start the character off, how low of a place he was in, and how he felt about his personal dilemmas before I began the story. I'm sorry if it came on too strong to make you want to hand him "an easy way out", but then I wouldn't have a novel to write ;)
