Street Words - 6. Chapter 6 Rain

Something a bit different. When a decided to trust someone, fool that I was.

Rain

The rain falls. In buckets.
It soaks me.
He said, Let’s meet. I wait.
Time. It’s been hours.
He’s late. Again. As always.
Zero. It’s what I am.
Somewhere. He’s dry. And laughing.

Oh wow, this is another great poem Tim :) I especially enjoy the juxtaposition of you being wet and him being dry.

But damn, that line "Zero. It's what I am." ...it brings it home to me that these poems record how you felt all those years ago, and to see that you felt like you were "zero" really tears me up :(

I am just glad, that you are past your demons, and if not quite there yet, I hope posting these are cathartic for you :)

Just enough of a glimpse to devastate. I know you don't mean for that to happen, but I'll gladly have my little world shaken by a few words if it means you are purging pain. These are more than this though. Each and everyone is to be cherished. There is power in words, and these words show there is power in you. You should be proud of your words, and your strength. A zero, you are not! Cheers, my friend... I celebrate you... Gary...

Drew, dude, you know I didnt go to school right, after 14ish. Ok well I did go back but no one used juxtaposition now I need to look it up. Just wait now: the fact of two things being seen or placed close together with contrasting effect.

Gary, thank you. You know things are pretty good with me now.I wrote something today that is slightly funny. Well to me anyway. It was such a relief to not think about my past. I have a good sense of humour. But thank you so much for your comments and your support. It means a lot to me.

Another poem powerful in its delivery, especially in the way it's punctuated. I really admire you for being able to write these down at the time you did. Definitely not a zero in my book.

Tim, I have found your poetry to be quite powerful and it has been difficult to respond to. These work well as a set, telling a story, showing us how things have progressed and developed. Nicely done.
I look forward to reading about Mikie capturing your heart and the funny stories of today

Hi Defiance, I remember going home after waiting. I trusted him, but I was just a joke. The dumb street kid is waiting for me ... it was the last time when I wrote this. Thanks again for reading.

Hi Bucket, if I'm honest I have a hard time reading some things, they can really affect me. Yeah, I'm gonna post something, NOT about me, thank god. I really appreciate you reading and commenting!
