timmy's poetry - 65. Wind and Whispers

things that need to be said ...

Outside winds howl

I do not want to die in winter

When all else is dead

Let me go when the sun is glorious

When flowers are plenty

When my heart tells me I’ve loved well

I am not ready today, to say goodbye

All the whispers in my head

Are drowned by the clanging of bells

The cacophony of voices that never stop

I listen

Listen

And like a sponge pull them into me

They pluck at me and laugh

Until I am only pieces on the floor

*************************

thank you for listening ...

i like both, but the second one really connects. i hate silences, the whispers can not be drowned out in silences. i know that you are loved, admired and respected by more people than you know or hear.

There is a hidden power in ‘ Wind ‘ , so much strength and resolve in the closing line.’ Whispers ‘ is frighteningly intense , baring emotions many relate to , but few would express so candidly or eloquently.Thank you for sharing your voice with us.

I read these lines and know of your strength beneath the cold and wind. You tell of voices I have heard, and feel the same disjointedness I have experienced. Thank you for your recollection of these things, for you remind me to look for the sun, and to listen for the voices of those I love.

I think Winter is cold so people will stick together more.  xoxo  Wind might sound like whispers, but I think listening to your own heart is important too.
