timmy's poetry - 74. Webs and In Spring

just a couple of little poems

Webs

poems are the most lovely of webs

they capture words in sticky threads

then as you tip toe across

they come unstuck with poetic licence.

In Spring

It grows in the spring all tasty and green

I've never eaten a finer thing

I'd eat it every day for the month.

I hope you don’t make a fuss

When I scoff all the asparagus

****

Hope you enjoyed these. Thanks for reading.

poetry paints pictures in my head, the words paint the picture

in "Webs," i see a spiders web, with drops of dew glistening in the sun, with a dainty spider picking her way (think Charlotte's Web) through the drops to create another piece of art

"In Spring" i see a little boy peeking over the kitchen counter and snitching the asparagus off the plate! lol!

i really like them both tim!

thanks molly ... i like your paintings.. xo

I liked and understood the first poem, but it was the second that produced a spontaneous giggle.

I wondered where you were headed with that one. Who knew it was all about you hoarding the asparagus? I’ll tell you now, I had it for the first time - in a “oh hell, let’s try it moment - not long ago, and wouldn’t you know I liked it. :D

So, fair warning, if there’s ever asparagus on our table, hoarding will not be allowed...nuh uh. :P

Great stuff tonight, tim!

glad you like'd the first.  and happy the second brought a smile.  last year there was no asparagus because of the weather.. lets hope we get some local stuff this year xo .. i'd share, or you can do what we do.. and we buy a bunch each .. Michael loves it too!

Spring asparagus! I will cheerfully share; it is a favorite of mine. I love your metaphor for poems as sticky webs. It’s elegant and wonderful.
