Moggy's Mutterings - 37. Words

Broken ribs, heal.
Collapsed lungs, re-inflate.
Dislocated shoulders, realign.
Sprain wrist and ankles, mend.
Facial swelling, bruising, fade.
Just like a river cuts through rocks,
and washes everything away,

Words will cut and maim your very soul.

when i was abused, i preferred the physical. the verbal assaults lasted longer and hurt more

This cuts to the heart of abuse, moggy... not all scars are visible. The blows that strike at the heart of us do the most damage. Well done... cheers... Gary....

Words can sometimes do more damage than physical injuries.  Good job on this one.

Very heart wrenching. :,(

Twenty years ago I took a punch to the mouth that loosened my teeth, and busted the inside of my lip up pretty bad. My mouth swelled up like I'd been socked by a prize fighter. The pain is long gone, but the shame followed me around for years.

thanks RJ. you are so right. the shame last for a long time. it can jump and punch you at at odd moments, especially during medical stuff when you have to explain the  x-rays
