Moggy's Mutterings - 46. A Weed

A great man said:
A single rose can be my garden... a single friend, my world.
I’ve never been a rose in anyone’s garden.
I am a lonely seed.
Drop in by a stray breeze
Hoping no one notices,
So I can be a part of the beauty.
All too soon,
I’m spotted.
You are not wanted.
Ripped and tossed away.

A single rose can be my garden... a single friend, my world.

Powerful poem. I'm sorry you see yourself that way, my friend. I don't, and I don't believe anyone else on GA does either. You are loved, moggy.

What happened to the lonely seed?

It grew to be a small and delicate wild flower.

Poppies, dandelions and other nature's joys,

While called weeds,

Ripped and tossed away,

Burst in new seeds

Spread by the winds.

Their beauty fought,

But never destroyed.

 happy you are here @mogwhy

This is beautiful, Leão

You are wanted on here and definitely by me. You've been a friend when I thought I had none and been the voice of reason when I was being thick headed.

To me, you will always be a rose in my garden.

A sad but well written short poem.

thanks caz! :glomp: you tell me the nicest things, give me great reading times

You write of something immensely sad. I offer you a hug, and hope the sadness, like a cold snap, will pass.

than you Parker. :glomp:  or maybe the snow will and blanket me under it's life giving moisture, to keep my seed alive long enough to bloom when the warm returns.

I’ve heard that too. We usually find it easier to believe the bad rather than the good, but any time you need a boost, we’re here

If the only flowers in the garden are roses it will soon become dull. Me, I want variety in my garden. Give me violets, phlox, daylilies and marigolds ... for they bring their own beauty and color just as do you

A rose is cut and pruned and forced to bloom on command , to conform and perform. A seed is wild and free to grow and influence wherever it chooses. Seems to me no one here is going to rip it out or discard it, but love and nurture and cherish it. A powerful  poem despite the immense sadness it contains.
