Occasional Poetry - 59. To an Abecedarian Poet

em>Written for tim. Because.
To an Abecedarian Poet

At once
brother and friend,
compassion for all whose
desperate destitution on
Earth now
frames your
greatest gift to all of us who
hail you as a comrade
in life's winding
journey;

Kindness
lives at your house;
makes itself resident,
no temporary guest,
or tired transient
pilgrim;

Questions,
reflections and
sharp-drawn observations
trip from your trusty, honest pen;
unmixed,
vivid
words, poetic and prosaic,
xenial catalysts
you share, brave and
zestful.

i>All and any reviews are welcome. They make authors smile.

It is how you are seen indeed. And the pleasure of writing this was mine. Thank you!

It wasn't until the third time of reading (!), that I noticed your ploy for using each letter of the alphabet. It isn't forced - it flows naturally as part and parcel of the whole. Bravo!
I'm sure tim well deserves your praise. :)

A fitting and justifiable tribute for one of our own... a loved one we all cherish. Great work with the ABC's, Parker... cheers... Gary....

That it took you several times to recognize the form means something went right. :) Glad you liked it!

Thank you Gary. The task seems simple, but X is hard to do without using work arounds. Learned a lot of new words for this poem! It seemed only right this one should go to our very own...

Was ever a more fitting and heartfelt tribute made…? It's lovely and paints a portrait of the subject very very well. We're lucky to know him

This is very true, and you described it beautifully:
"Questions,
reflections and
sharp-drawn observations
trip from your trusty, honest pen".

That is tim.

You've written quite a gem here, and the alphabet portion only makes it more so.
