Occasional Poetry - 60. To a Rounded Stone

em>Dedicated to a man with inspiration in his soul.
To a Rounded Stone

And I would be your river fair,
my dappled waters, singing low,
to soothe and smooth your every care
and all your subtle edges know.

I beg you let each ripple kiss
the place where you a flaw detect,
though none shall know of aught amiss --
all hidden by my surface flecked.

Fear not the gathered nimbus proud,
for I shall hold you in my grasp,
and there in bed to each we'll clasp
together through the thunder loud.

And though my face with foam be decked,
and much my speech be made to hiss,
yet know the torrent shall perfect
the way we fit in current bliss.

So my caress, above, below,
be present to you everywhere,
e'en to the oceans when you go,
for I would be your river fair.

Hmmm. It is a lovely poem .. but who is it dedicated to? Hmmm? I'll ponder that.

Oh, I didn't mean to make a mystery. But I am glad you liked it.

Caressed by love's enveloping embrace. What a beautiful thought.
"I beg you let each ripple kiss
the place where you a flaw detect" --
In a lover's eyes, there are no imperfections.
Really great piece, Parker.

Love is like a river. Smooth at times, raging at others, and always fluid. Any yes, it has the ability to surround us in it's protective embrace, soothing, comforting, and constant. I loved this, Parker. I got a little bit lost in this one... a good kind of lost... cheers... Gary....

Wow. This is outstanding ... to be a pebble washed in love's endless stream.

That you got pleasantly lost makes me happy. Also that you grasped the central idea so well. Again, you seem to see inside my head. I am so glad. You liked this.

Such a beautiful piece. The imagery is inspired and inspiring.

He who moves you to write such wonderful verse, is both blessed and fortunate. As are you, of course... ;)

Sometimes inspiration comes out of the blue, and sometimes you know exactly from whom it comes. In this case, credit needed to be given where it is due. I am delighted you enjoyed this poem!
