Spice Rack - 13. Repetition

Is there ever too much of a good thing? if I erred, dear reader, I beg your pardon.

Again;

impossibly

it stirs down at the core,

insatiable, unquenchable

hunger;

only

equal love and mirrored madness

slake the thirst, fill the soul,

arching, pleading,

for more.

I thank AC Benus and Asamvav111 for their time and help. Please consider leaving a comment. I value all of them, rant or rave.

Damn, Parker... this is your best one yet! :worship:  Oops, I mean, Chef ;) I love it from the simple beginning.  "Again" the word is so loaded with meaning in this context.  My favorite line is "mirrored madness".  Very well done, my friend.  I think I'm going to go take a cold shower now....

Thank you Val, for your immensely generous and kind words. "Mirrored madness" seems an apt description; I'm glad it appealed to you. You are so good to read and comment on this collection.

I agree wholeheartedly with Val on this.  I think this is my favourite so far.  "Only equal love and mirrored madness slake the thirst, fill the soul"  Wonderfully evocative of a soul-deep craving for the one we desire.

Thank you for your very kind word. The line you quote is a favorite of mine, too. I am glad it struck a chord with you also. I am grateful for your comments.

Worry not. There are a few more left in the collection. Glad you like them enough for another helping.

All these poems are such glorious lessons in wordcraft, quite apart from anything else. Here, the juxtaposition of again and impossibly, the pairing of insatiable and unquenchable. And the whole poem radiates passion and desire.

I am glad this has appealed to you. Sometimes extra helpings are simply too much of a good thing.

You are so very generous with your kindness.Thank you. The first two words you mention express so much in this context, connotations leaping out at the mind as it absorbs the rest. At least, that was the intent.

I love the intensity of your words and feelings Parker... Slake the thirst, fill the soul. Breathtaking and so understandable. You Sir, are definitely capable of dropping some drawers with your words alone.

Let me describe ur poem in ur own words 'insatiable' n 'unquenchable' ....

U always leave wanting 'more'

The line 'equal love and mirrored madness slake the thirst n fill the soul' was the best mirroring the desire deep down which can't be satisfied!!

Great poem :)

Thank you for this comment. You are most kind. 'Equal' and 'mirrored' were perfect words for what I hoped to convey: an inexhaustible desire for one's beloved.
