Spice Rack - 17. Elation

I snuck another one in while you weren't looking. So sue me.

Whispers,

lips chasing lips,

tongues and teeth tantalize,

wild eyed desire in hot pursuit

of love;

Behold

the quarry at bay, brought to ground;

the blade, unsheathed, plunges;

hunter and prey

cry out.

Gee ... it's kinda hot here in the kitchen.

But the heat is worthwhile, isn't it? Thanks for reading this one!

I like the word Primal here - it fits perfectly. It is exactly the characterization I was looking for. Thank you for reading my mind. I may have to build another shelf if I want to add more spices, though...

I don't think you'll ever get any complaints about more Spice Rack poems, Chef. ;)  This is hot stuff, indeed.  You're on a roll, my friend. :D

Yes, well, I may have to find a way to crowd more spices onto the rack. It is getting rather tight, isn't it? Thanks so much for your comment, and for reading this one!

I love how @Lux Apollo is usually a man of few words, no less powerful.

 I'm off to search for this spice in my kitchen. Need to try this recipe. Please excuse me... LOL!

I am very glad the taste agreed with you. It makes for a warm, yet delectable dish, I think.

Primal, wild, untamed, unleashed, but despite your hunting metaphors, there is no violence, no blood. The rut is passion and desire untrammeled. Wonderful.

Thankfully, no blood. But we can be hunters, nonetheless.  As you say, passion and desire in the last heat of summer. I am so very glad you liked it.
