Puppilull's poetry prompts - 2. Poetry prompt 12 - Rondo

Serving always my God and law

Feeling always sure, without flaw

No doubts in my actions I saw

My chosen path narrow and straight

Discovering all was a lie

All that's left is the question why

Don't know how can I even try

To travel on my righteous path

Now all my deceptive bridges burn

Desperate with nowhere to turn

For sweet oblivion I yearn

I surrender to freeing death

Another try at poetry. Another freefall through the English language.

I don't quite understand the 'rules' of a rondo... I read the prompt when I was exhausted from writing. All I know is this is very powerful, to the point of stunning. You should maybe format it better... so all the lines are separate, but it wouldn't change the impact it had on me. Poetry is definitely one of your callings... cheers... Gary

Puppilull, I don't think you need to worry about the free fall at all. This is really meaningful, and wonderfully expressed. Good job!

I agree with Gary, the formatting would only make it easier to read... And, maybe you're a poet yet! :)

What I'd like to know, is this inspired by a movie moment? It must be a killer moment if it is! Please pop back to the poetry prompt page and maybe attach a link to the scene if you can. That would be awesome.

Thank you so much! It's like a drug this poetry thing...

I'm using my tablet and phone, so the format issue is irritating. I thought I had it fixed, but apparently not...

I'm writing this on my phone on a very, very iffy wifi in Spain... Will try and explain myself in the thread. It is indeed a movie scene.

Very well done! It made me think of what it's like to start life as a child and then growing up to find out the truth.

I sincerely hope you're not speaking from experience. I get what you mean, but that would be a terrible thing to happen to a child.

Thanks for reading,reflecting and reviewing!
