Poetry - 6. The clothing/Rubaiyat
Here's my response to prompt 18, Rubaiyat. I decided to address the topic of true love and this is the final result, a poem completely inspired by my husband and written for him. Baby, you have been the reason for which I've smiled for the past eleven years. I love you!
How peaceful when you’re sleeping by my side
oblivious to the crazy human hive,
Against what all the people might assume
how beautiful it is to be alive!
Because I feel our love wondrously bloom,
a feeling that not even pain can gloom.
The world might not completely understand
that for despair and tears we have no room.
A fire that the years have only fanned
instead of with time passage growing bland;
against what people usually express
Loving and being loved is only grand.
True love is the one topic I address
When I think of our love and its success;
Oblivious to the crazy human hive,
let’s make our love the clothes in which we dress!
AC, this was a challenge I really loved!
