April Musings - 24. Sit with Me

Inspired by an email containing a picture of a garden bench and three simple words.

Sit with me

And talk of silly things

Like odd ducks and

What vampires eat for breakfast,

If anything.

Sit with me

And discuss important things

Like the nature of dragons and

The royal hierarchy of Faery.

Sit with me

In silence

And look at flowers and

Cloud formations,

Wishing the other wasn’t

Sitting half a world away.

Dedicated to a special friend

Eloquent, and simply beautiful. I absolutely love this, Val. I can so relate. I have a friend I can talk to about anything... most of it silly... and often sidesplitting. He's so far away, and so busy.

Thanks for this... I will admit I choked up at the end. Cheers... Gary....

This brings to mind recollections of my son and his best friend. They have spent their adult lives separated by miles and circumstance and yet remain the closest of friends after 30+ years.

So very beautiful, and wistfully melancholy. How hard to be so near in spirit, yet so far away.

Thank you, Parker.  It can be difficult having long-distance friends at times.

Sit with me,

a cat on each knee , watching them wrinkle their noses  at coffee and cheesecake.

Later then we might agree that vampires will want a red smoothie when they awake,

and we observe the black dragon soaring through the blue sky.

Sounds like paradise :)

Time and distance are meaningless for true friendship, even if we wish distance wasn't an issue :)
