Ravings of a Rabid Werewolf - Poetry by Wolf - 21. Currents

The evil mistress strikes again;

Mother Nature shows her perverse joy to torment.

Under sunless skies our group waits and talks;

Our surfboards bobbing in the small swells.

We sit, feet dangling in the cold water;

Watching little crabs crawl up the piers leg.

Even the current seems to be against us;

Holding us still in its clawed grip.

Though the number of wetsuits today is small;

The camaraderie of the waves keepers binds us.

Hopefulness and stubbornness only last for so long;

In the end, we paddle to shore, bidding our mistress farewell.

And maybe a little Beach Boys playing in the background to raise the excitement?! 😉

Seriously, you've painted a great word picture! Thanks.

I was right out there with you, waiting for fickle nature to decided it's time for a change. Well done :)

Thank you AC.  I really need to spend more time learning the different aspects of poetry.  Being able to successfully compose new styles will be fun I think.

Thank you Jeff.  A little Beach Boys while surfing is always a good thing.

Thank you tim :hug:  Floated in line with one leg of the pier for a half hour without paddling to stay in place.
