Today, we're doing something a little different! This is the newest newsletter prompt writing game. So, play along with some other authors, have fun with any headline that catches your eye, and get a link to your story featured in the site newsletter! HEADLINE PROMPT GAME Happy Gay Pride Month, everyone! How are you celebrating? Does your city do a parade? Special event weekends? Ban celebrations? *boo hiss* Or are you not quite ready for the crowds? Well, how about GA celebrates together with a new game? Very loose rules with this game, just have some fun with it. You're going to google "Gay Pride" and then click on the (News) option. Then DON'T click on the results! All you're going to do is use one of the headlines that catches your eye to create a scenario and write from there. Any length, any genre is fine, but the theme is sort of obvious, lol. You can share your headline in the game topic, talk about your story/writing as you go along, but don't do a full reveal to anyone but your editing team so we can all enjoy them later! Fine print: Deadline is June 28th. Post story/chapter unpublished with no date. Send link to Cia via PM. Story release will happen with July 1st newsletter.

Hi All! This email went out on July 5th. Unfortunately, it has been brought to our attention that not everyone got. Investing the report, I found we were about 1000 people short of what should have sent for reason unknown. I therefore am posting it here so people don't get spammed if we posted it again. Thank You, Subscribers! Thank you to all our Premium Membership subscribers. Premium keeps the lights on here at Gay Authors and we invest in new content as well as further improvements to the site. Without you, we would not stay open. ** Browse Premium Stories ** Again, Thanks! Attention Authors! Speaking of investing in new content, how does earning π²π² for your writing sound? After dropping back from 2 years of weekly newsletters to monthly updates in 2019 on our outside email newsletter, we have decided to stop using the outside service altogether after the final newsletter which will be sent on Sunday, July 28th. Going forward, we'll be sending emails with the news members want and need to know directly from Gay Authors! If you wish to receive the occasional email newsletter from the site, then please go to your Notification Settings and chose one of the two boxes highlighted here: This news is in this month's newsletter too for anyone who misses this blog. Moving forward, we'll be able to bring you site news, tips, announcements, games, and more specialized updates quicker and easier from GA! We think it will be far more useful to send out emails as changes and things happen on the site for GA members, plus it keeps all your notifications here from one place. Don't forget to share this with your fellow members, especially if you know they like to keep up with all the site news and changes (use at mentions in the comments, share this blog, shoot them a pm now!) and let's get everyone to change their notification settings so they're ready for the switch!

There's a new game running for the newsletter! Today we're going to get the ball rolling, and next week I'll announce the fun twist of the game. This will involve writing, so if you don't want to play, don't add the game information to your reply (feel free to talk/discuss otherwise). Don't worry, though, it's not a long or hard challenge. Take Two Game: Choose two nouns at random. Pull out a dictionary (if you own one!) or randomly search for nouns online. Take the first two you pick/see/get results for and add them to your post here. What are you going to do with them? Well... the answer for that comes with next week's newsletter. Game details: Game announcement 4/30/17 & 5/7/17. Game will run through 6/3/17 with newsletter feature on 6/4/17. Example: I want to play! This sounds like fun, and I can always use a creative nudge. (hint, hint authors!) Nouns: park & cereal
