I see the awards are listed up till 2012, has anyone won awards for each category for 2013 and 2014?

Just wondered that's all.

Hello Admin, I was just wondering why there has been no Readers Choice awards since 2012?

Has it been dropped or just forgotten?

Quokka

I'm almost positive there was a 2013 Readers' Choice Awards. Check the topics in the Lounge. I'm 99% sure there's one for the 2013 Readers' Choice Awards.

If I remember correctly, they are usually around this time...maybe next month?

At this time, the Administration team decided to not run the annual Reader's Choice Awards for 2014. We had planned on some features with Stories 2.0 but the upgrade from IP Board has put all that on hold. We discussed running them a bit late this year, however, when assessing the past 2-3 years, the number of participants has been dwindling to incredibly low numbers. We've decided to focus on running contests and varying the site blog content this year.

If you have a story that you really wanted to see receive recognition, please consider nominating it for a blog feature by PM'ing Renee Stevens or me. You can do a review for our weekly features, request it get featured for a CSR book club event, or make a suggestion of something new and fun we could do to showcase your favorite authors and their stories.

I assume this means that the team has decided to not do Reader's Choice Awards at all for the future either because it would be weird to not have it for just one year, I would think.

As part of our Stories 2.0 Specs 'Wish List' (features we want to try to make happen, but might not be able to) is a way to allow readers to give author's stories special awards/banners based on a different criteria, and that would be automated within the system itself. If that is not possible, we will be garnering feedback from members on new ideas for how to run a program/award event to recognize site stories, because, as great as the RCAs have been in the past, the last few years it just hasn't been working as a way to focus on the stories themselves.
